Seed Cycling: A Simple Beginner’s Guide

Seed cycling is a simple food routine many women follow to support their natural monthly cycle. It is not a medicine and makes no miracle claims — it is a gentle, traditional practice built on a sensible idea: different seeds bring different nutrients, and rotating them through the month keeps your diet varied. Here is how it works.

The four seeds

The routine uses two pairs of seeds: flaxseed (alsi) and pumpkin seeds in the first half of the cycle, then sesame seeds (til) and sunflower kernels in the second half. Between them they cover omega-3, zinc, magnesium, vitamin E and healthy fats.

The routine

Days 1–14 (from the first day of your period): take 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed and 1 tablespoon of pumpkin seeds daily.

Days 15–28: switch to 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds and 1 tablespoon of sunflower kernels daily.

If you don’t track cycle days, simply rotate the pairs every two weeks — the habit matters more than perfect counting.

Easy ways to take them

Grind the flax fresh if you can. Blend the seeds into smoothies and milkshakes, stir into yogurt or oatmeal, sprinkle over salads, or mix the ground seeds into atta for your daily roti.

A honest note

Seed cycling is a dietary practice, not a treatment. If you have a medical condition or are taking medication, speak to your doctor first — and treat any website promising cures with suspicion, including ours if we ever did. We just sell good seeds.

Our Seed Cycling Kit bundles all four seeds in the right rotation, or you can buy each seed separately: flaxseed, pumpkin, sesame and sunflower.
